Every New Year, I perform an audit of my previous year. I look at how I performed relative to my goals and I plan out the next year. In 2021, I created a spreadsheet where I track every day and if I made progress toward my goals that day. Here are the goals I have for this year:
So, every day I look over these exact goals, and I plan my day accordingly. Some of them are going WAY better than others. For example, I'm writing this in July and I'm almost fluent in Spanish already. 7-9 have taken a hit after I broke 3 metatarsals and tore a ligament in my foot at BJJ. Why 7 you ask? Well, because for some reason if I don't workout, eating healthy is WAY harder.
I'm well aware that I will fall short of some of these, but having a target does wonders for my productivity and my overall direction. It keeps my eyes on the prize. I strongly encourage you to do something similar at the end of the year. I have done it for 4 years now, and it has improved my life drastically. Maybe I'll write a blog post detailing what I do?
