Current leadership deficits exist due to misconceptions about who is responsible for leadership development and ineffective leadership development programs that do not teach people how to LEARN to be a leader. Simply learning the skills and concepts of a leader is not sufficient for being an effective leader. One must embody and identify with “leader” and be perceived by others as a leader.
A leader is a socially constructed identity that is selected through a grant-claim framework. A good leader is one with a high level of mindfulness and awareness of self. Also explored are the concepts of the mindful engagement methodology which is an effective approach to learning.

The desire for value neutrality is to suggest that you WANT things to be neutral. But to be value neutral is to be indifferent, to not promote or prefer. Therefore to DESIRE value neutrality is in and of itself having a preference. To truly be value neutral, there must be no goal, intention, preference, moral consideration, judgement, even motivation for an action.
Example of a value neutral action are involuntary actions
Statistical model - Says that explanations work by showing that an event fits into a statistical pattern or lawlike regularity; Says that an event is expected or probable given certain conditions; pertains to trends, probabilities, and correlations
Smoking increases the probability of lung cancer ← smoking is used as an explanation for the cause of lung cancer based on stats that smokers develop lung cancer more often than non smokers (non-smokers can still develop lung cancer without ever smoking in their lives)
Causal model focuses on the concept that for an explanation to be sufficient, it must identify the specific cause (or set of causes) that actually brought about the effect
This person’s lung cancer occurred because smoking damaged their lung cells, causing mutations that lead to a tumor”
