Engineering Progression Framework

Salary bands

Our pay and performance reviews processes are documented in the employee handbook.

These are the current salary bands for product engineers:

We've recently been able to support candidates at earlier stages in their career journey, creating the Product Engineer I band. We will publish a salary band when there are more individuals in this role.

Numbers in brackets are only available to internal progression, not external candidates. We aim to support every product engineer to progress their career to a Senior Product Engineer. At this point we support Senior Product Engineers in continuously improving at senior or making the step of taking on additional responsibilities to become a Staff Product Engineer.

For Devops, the salary band is £47-100k (a wide band to encompass a wide range of experience levels).

For engineering managers, the salary band is £70-115k (a wide band to encompass a wide range of experience levels).

Following the 2020 Q4 company retro, we will be publishing more information about how pay is determined and reviewing how we pay people.
