Prerequisites

Note that I using Macbook, so all shortcut is for MacOS only.

• Blender (I use 4.5.4)
• Python and Jupyter installation (I use 3.13.5, but any version > 3.10 should work fine)
• My util scripts https://github.com/SoulCRYSIS/factorio-utils. Clone to project root.
• (optional) Meshy.ai and midjourney.com subscription
• (optional) Some AI prompting skill
• (optional) Image editor e.g. Photoshop (I use Clipstudio and Procreate)

Script usage

Common use scripts are gather inside main.py, other scripts are just me trying around.

AI generation (skip if you don’t want AI)

Generating 2D reference image

I found the AI generates best when it has a reference, and 3Ds are much slower to generate, so you don’t need to waste time trying to iterate between prompts.

For example, I will create a trading center.

1. Go to some AI image websites (any). I usually use Midjourney since it’s really cheap and fast.

2. You should try a simple prompt first, with tags like “no floor”, “no background”, “isometric” and try to use a reference image.

   Here I use “trading center, no floor, no background” with my windmill as style reference.

   You don’t need “isometric” because the reference is already isometric.

   

   

3. I kinda like 2nd one, so I will try create some variations, just hover and tap V strong or V subtle (how strong the different)

   

4. It still doesn’t quite like, think of what it’s missing and add it to the prompt.

   I think it lacks color, maybe fruit and flowers. So I change prompt to

   trading center, decorative fruits and goods, medieval, no floor, no background

   

   PERFECT!!!
