Session Overview

This 8-turn session on 2026-05-28 (18:06 to 20:37 UTC) redesigned multiple sections of the Sam Cares page (aguiarinjurylawyers.com/about-us/sam-cares/). The session began with a request to add a giving map content block and escalated to several concurrent fixes including sidebar removal, video grid replacement with split cards, promo card removal, and trust strip removal. The page is a custom full-width .aguiar-* design with no two-column content grid, which constrained several options.

What Was Accomplished

1. Added "Where Our Giving Lands" section: A new full-width section placed after the "Our Team In The Community" photo gallery. Includes an orange eyebrow and navy headline, three regional cards (Western Kentucky, Louisville and Central, Eastern Kentucky) each with orange top border and regional context notes, a navy "Our Roots Run Through Kentucky" callout referencing Sam, Jon Hollan, and Sara Collins, narrative body copy, and an orange-bordered pull quote. Verified live at desktop (1280px) and mobile (390px).
2. Replaced the asymmetric photo gallery with a polaroid-style photo wall on a navy Visible Depth gradient background. Eight photos in a 4-column desktop / 3-column tablet / 2-column mobile grid, white polaroid frames with alternating rotations and hover lift. Header and intro text switched to white for contrast.
3. Removed the "Bigger Share Guarantee" promo callout card (the standalone navy card with trophy outline and orange "Learn More" button).
4. Replaced the "See Us In Action" video grid with three full-width split cards at different page-break locations, each pairing a text summary on one half and a video on the other, with alternating layout: Split Card 1 (video left, after initiatives grid), Split Card 2 (video right, after photo wall), Split Card 3 (video left, before family wall).
5. Removed the trust strip below the hero (Forbes / Google rating / $0 Out-Of-Pocket / Bigger Share Guarantee items). Hero now flows directly into the "How We Show Up" initiatives section.
6. QA passed at each step: no horizontal overflow on desktop (1280px) or mobile (390px), no CSS leaks, all Cloudflare and WP Rocket caches purged.

What Was Tried and Didn't Work

• Adding the sa-sidebar-option-a sidebar to the Sam Cares page was requested and then ruled out. The Sam Cares page uses a custom full-width .aguiar-* design where every section runs edge-to-edge. The Option A sidebar is designed for the standard .sa-content-grid two-column template, which this page does not have. Forcing it in would require rebuilding the entire page into a two-column layout, wrecking the current design. Sam decided to skip the sidebar entirely.
• Sam initially asked for live fixes to be deployed as they were completed, then later clarified that some earlier items had not been deployed when he expected them. There was temporary confusion about what was live vs. staged.

Decisions Made and Reasoning

• Sidebar skipped: Sam explicitly chose to skip the sidebar and remove the BSG promo card instead. The Sam Cares page stays full-width with no sidebar permanently.
• The .aguiar-split element (full-width video/text split card) was introduced as a new design component. The agent noted it should be logged to the SA Element Registry. Sam did not confirm or deny logging it in this session.
• Trust strip removed from below hero: Sam requested removal, deployed and verified.
• The new photo wall uses the navy Visible Depth gradient (#000 to #0B212D) to match the existing brand-blue aesthetic on this page.
