Summary of work done

Reviewed the Legacy Staff ID field shown on the Litify Note detail page after Sam asked what it is and whether it is necessary.

Live Salesforce findings:

Interpretation: this appears to be historical provenance from migrated legacy notes, not something staff need to see or edit on modern RingCentral/RingSense notes. It should not be deleted because it is heavily populated and may still help historical audits or migration tracing. It is safe to consider hiding it from the staff-facing note layout while preserving the field and all data.

Reason for session ending

This was a read-only investigation and answer. No Salesforce metadata was changed in this pass.

Suggested next steps

Recommended next step is a reversible layout-only cleanup: remove Legacy Staff ID from the visible Litify Note staff layout, preserve the field and data, then verify a RingSense Litify Note page no longer shows the field. Do not delete the field.

Handoff for next agent

If continuing, work from Repos/sail-litify/Litify_AI_Integration_Project/salesforce-metadata. Retrieve the relevant litify_pm__lit_Note__c layout metadata before editing. Keep the change layout-only and reversible. The goal is staff-facing cleanup, not field deletion. Preserve Legacy_Staff_ID__c data because it is heavily populated and likely historical migration provenance.
