Hey, Dr. Brown here.
One thing I kept noticing over the years with my patients was that so many people struggling with bloating were taking probiotic after probiotic because they thought it was the “healthy” thing to do, but instead of feeling better, a lot of them were actually feeling worse.
More gas, more pressure, and more bloating after meals.
And that’s what sent me down the rabbit hole on this whole issue.
For a lot of people, bloating isn’t happening because they don’t have enough bacteria. It’s happening because bacteria are growing where they shouldn’t be. So in these cases, adding more bacteria on top of that can actually make things worse.
That’s part of why the American Gastroenterological Association currently recommends against probiotics specifically for bloating and abdominal distention.
After seeing this pattern over and over in my own patients, I knew we needed a different approach. That’s what eventually led me to create Atrantil.
Instead of simply adding more bacteria, I designed Atrantil to help calm the gas and fermentation that can lead to that uncomfortable bloating and pressure after eating.
I use Atrantil with my own patients, my own family, and I take it myself.
And if probiotics have helped you, that’s great. But if you’ve tried them and thought, “Why do I actually feel more bloated?” you are definitely not alone.
Hope this helps explain things a little better.
