Session Overview

Sam received two email attachments from Zazz (the firm's outgoing MSP) in response to a request made three times over the course of a week (March 5 through March 12, 2026) for a log of what Zazz copied, moved, and migrated as part of the server migration and offboarding. The two attachments were: (1) an Excel spreadsheet called Sam_Server_Volumes_1.xlsx and (2) an RTF file called Sync Errors.rtf. Sam could not make sense of either file and asked Claude to interpret both in the context of the email thread and the existing Servers Cleanup Repo on the local machine.

The session evolved into drafting a response email to Zazz, with Sam expressing frustration that the deliverables did not match what was requested, that the firm received another monthly services invoice, and that Sam is personally doing the cleanup work that Zazz should have handled.

Spreadsheet (Sam_Server_Volumes_1.xlsx):

This is NOT a migration log. It is a static inventory of every volume and folder across the firm's server environment (Server-Host, Server01, Server05, NAS/NASGUIAR, Server02, Server03, Server04, Server06). Each row lists: server name, folder path, last modified date, size, file count, and a disposition note (e.g., "Move to NAS or Server05," "Copied from Server01," "Stays as-is," "Needs Audit," "Possible Duplicative Files").

Sync Error Log (Sync Errors.rtf):

This is a log from FreeFileSync (identified by the .ffs_tmp temp file naming convention). It shows a single mirror sync job from \\server01\F$\Closed Cases to I:\Closed Cases that ran for approximately 11 minutes (3:19 PM to 3:30 PM). No date is included in the log header.
