Positioning Foz as the Capital of Water Sports (low environmental impact)
- Ensure the availability of support facilities (changing rooms, lockers, equipment storage);
- Guarantee the operation of beach facilities (changing rooms, showers) year-round;
- Install informational panels around the lagoon highlighting dangers (strong currents, deep waters, fishing areas, emergency contacts…);
- Build partnerships to host national and international competitions in various water sports;
- Promote the region as a leading destination for water sports;
- Play an active role in defending the Lagoon, ensuring stable conditions for sport by combating silting and removing algae.
Supporting the Work of Shellfish Gatherers
- Maintain and signpost the paths used by fishermen;
- Create a storage facility for their equipment;
- Create a dedicated parking area to facilitate loading and unloading;
- Provide changing facilities for after water activities;
- Collaborate with CMCR to establish a permanent observatory of the Óbidos Lagoon;
- Cooperate in creating a time-bank system for dredger use, enabling immediate interventions when necessary.
Stimulating Local Commerce (village and beach)
- Restructure the “Fozge Comigo” project, enhancing its visibility and impact;
- Activate and manage a Tourism Office, with information about local shops, restaurants, accommodations, and historical sites;
- Partner with tourism platforms (e.g., Turismo Centro Portugal; Geoparque Oeste) to promote the parish;
- Develop partnerships to promote year-round events in the village.
