Do a one-page adaptation of an episode in someone's life. It can be a well-known story, or something known only to you. The story can cover a minute, or an entire lifetime, as long as it succeeds in portraying the person in a convincing and original manner.

The person can even be imaginary, as long as they are loosely based on someone you know or have read about (see Imaginary Lives by Marcel Schwob).

Possible directions:

• a monologue or a scene from the life of an artist (Ivan Brunetti on Mondrian, Catherine Meurisse on Proust)

• an interpretation of an episode in a famous artist's life

• a single image representing the person, with a written caption

• an interpretation of a rumor, or an anecdote

• an openly fictionalized story involving the person, that does however stay true to the person's work and life

• a personal essay about the person

• an visual introduction to an event in someone's life, or their entire life

• a direct adaptation of someone's words, spoken or written
