Room Categories 101

If your home has a ton of rooms in it, you may want to set up room categories.

Room categories allow homeowners and admins to organize the rooms in their home into different sections. This setup is structural for the home and is displayed for all members (it’s not an individual/personal setting).

This will make the experience more organized and generally easier for your home’s members to find the rooms that are most relevant to them.

Room categories can be created and managed by the homeowner and anyone with the permission to “Manage rooms”.

Creating a new room category

There are two different ways to create a new room category.

1. From Home Settings

• iPhone (coming soon to Android too)

  1. Open the home and press the “•••” button above the home’s name (to the right) at the top of your side menu
  2. Click “Organize Rooms”
  3. Press the “+” to the right of the word “CATEGORIES” to create a new category
  4. Give your category a name and click “Create”
  5. Your category will then appear in your list of categories and you can drag and drop existing rooms into it

• Web

  

  1. Press the “v” dropdown menu to the right of your home’s name at the top of your side menu
  2. Click “Organize Rooms”
  3. Press the “+” to the right of the word “CATEGORIES” to create a new category
  4. Give your category a name and click Done
  5. Your category will then appear in your list of categories and you can drag and drop existing rooms into it
