AAA Central Penn in association with the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) is inviting innovators from large and small institutions, companies, startups, the local community and students to join in an engaging hackathon where they come up with business plans for “Crafting a 21st Century Membership Experience,’ to win up to $25,000.00 in prize money and be part of the revolution to build solutions for travelers of the future.

H4D is a design sprint-like event in which students, professors, innovators, domain experts, technologists, project managers and entrepreneurs collaborate intensively to design the future member experience for AAA.

The hackathon will be an in-person event at Harrisburg University of Science & Technology coming up on November 1st from 9 am to 6 pm.

The H4D Hackathon will focus on the following problems:

  1. Design a forward-looking physical branch for AAA that attracts and retains members with the best experience
  2. Design the best digital experience for AAA members that incorporates all the products and services
  3. Develop new products and services that enhance the member experience for future users, consider factors like – self driving, shared car ownerships etc.

Your team can choose one of the problem statements above based on expertise and interest. The team should be 2-5 members, where the participants can be students, professors, etc.

Hackathons provide an opportunity for individual contributors to strengthen soft skills like leadership, mentoring and communication. Also offer risk-free situations where teamwork is encouraged, building interpersonal communication skills. And most importantly one of the biggest prize money events in Central PA.
