Every year I say to myself “This year will be different”, but then spend 12 months doing the same shit and feeling more miserable than the year before. This year, 2026, I took matter into my own hands and start working on my big change.
Before I come to you with my 2026 master rebrand plan I want to say this: Don’t change what works for you. When you feel confident in your routine, even just a small part, don’t touch it! If you feel good in your sleep schedule, diet, evening routine,… keep it that way. Only change things that make you feel bad.
I came up with a four step plan, feel free to use this too. But don’t just use this because I use it, but it can be a start.
For the first step you have to get rid of everything that visibly and mentally disturbs you. Go around your living space and make a list of things you want to get rid off. Don’t forget your digital space. Make piles for things to keep, donate, sell and throw away to not overwhelm you.
Find things that feel like you, is step two. This goes for your full fashionable identity, hair, clothes, accessories,…
I started by making a personal colour palate. What colours and vibes do I want to give off at first glance. Then I dived deeper and started writing down what I want in my style, what type of pieces I want to buy, what kind of aesthetic I want. Then I wrote down what I already own in that style and then things I want to add.
Step three is letting go. Letting go of energy drainers and replacing them with energy givers. I made two columns, one where I wrote down what my energy drainers are. In my case it was TikTok and bad food. In the second column I wrote down what solutions I need and my energy givers.
Sometimes you’ll need to look at professional help when it comes to more serious energy drainers, and that’s totally okay. Do what you need to do to heal.
The last step is to become very educated and well spoken in a way that feels good for you. For me personally that’s watching more long movies, reading classical novels and reading articles or watching TED- talks about topics that interest me.
It’s easier to learn about things that interest you, so start with that and once you become the smartest person in the room about your favorite topics you can move on to new things by doing research, asking questions and finding new things to spark your interest.
This is how I will change for the better this year so next year I can enjoy worry free.
