Hi! We are excited to see that you’re considering applying for the opportunity to lead QMIND’s Design Portfolio for 2026-27. This will be your go-to guide for the exciting new changes Design will be undergoing this year and how YOU can become a part of it!
Up until now, QMIND’s mission has been “To increase accessibility to the AI and tech communities at Queen’s,” and we have been immensely successful in increasing awareness and engagement with AI across our campus. Now, with the recent global AI revolution, everyone is using AI. And so, with our success of increasing AI accessibility over our last few years, QMIND begins a new phase of its vision:
As QMIND enters its 8th Year, we aim to develop QMIND’s presence in the wider tech sphere, develop strong connections with both Industry and Academia, and create a direct pathway for QMIND Alumni to get hired and make impact.

This year, The Design portfolio’s structure will be changing to create a more directed vision in its positions; the most important change being, replacing DoDs with the role of Supervisors.
There will be two Supervisor positions, each managing their own sub-portfolio of either Research or Consulting. All PM led teams will be placed into one of these Portfolios, and we aim to have between 7-10 teams in each. See more about each role and the portfolio below!
Throughout the year, sub-portfolios will have their own respective initiatives and events, in addition to the QMIND-wide firm days, conferences, and socials, focused on building skills required to succeed in either Research/Consulting, and building community within the sub-portfolio.
