Summary of work done

Disabled the RingCentral App Connect Chrome extension in the active Chrome Default profile. This was scoped to the browser widget shown in the screenshot, not to Salesforce records, RingCentral account data, SMS Magic history, or any live communications workflow.

Rollback

Open chrome://extensions/?id=kkhkjhafgdlihndcbnebljipgkandkhh and toggle RingCentral App Connect back On. A pre-change Chrome plist backup from the abandoned policy attempt is saved at /Users/samaguiar/Documents/Projects/admin/backups/chrome-ringcentral-widget-2026-05-17/com.google.Chrome.plist.pre-ringcentral-policy.2026-05-17_105429.

Session log

Local log: /Users/samaguiar/Documents/Projects/admin/session_logs/ringcentral-widget-removal-2026-05-17.md.

Reason for session ending

The requested local browser widget removal is complete, QA passed for the active Chrome profile, and the work has been logged.

Suggested next steps and handoff

If the widget reappears, check whether another Chrome profile, a re-enabled extension, or a RingCentral desktop-app overlay is active. Future agents should treat this as a browser-extension surface first. Do not delete RingCentral data, Salesforce records, SMS Magic history, or communications automations for this symptom unless Sam explicitly asks for that separate live-system cleanup.

Importance and state

Importance: Medium. Status: Done for the active Chrome profile. Pending: Sam can choose whether to add a durable RingCentral/Litify runbook note so future agents do not mistake this UI annoyance for a live-system cleanup task.

P10: Keep or refine the RingCentral widget change
