Discussion
- Contributor call tomorrow
- thUSD contributors to confirm attendance
- new slot for Will to discuss TIP-037
- Updates on projects
- “3 Pillars of Treasury Management” blog live (LastThings wrote w/ Beau input, John added graphics, edited & posted)
- Calendar: Angle42 weekly blog post - ask Hagan if we can read the blog post before it is published and comment on it.
- Blog post by LastThing: ask him to share to review over the weekend.
- newsletter feedback: it was great, maybe some sections where hard to read, more feedback needed?
- Newsletter:
- John working on special issue on staking - draft by Monday to have a look before publishing next week.
- @Ashley - MrsNU working on the regular issue.
- Video interviews: one with Sasha, one with David. Fern between two keys: shannon and Kevin (Gitcoin). Good content for social media.
- Opportunity to interview more at ETH Denver.
- Opportunity to record an interview with Beau.
- Nous offers the possibility of edits and approves for the videos as refinement for the interviewees.
- Discussion about translations:
- Reasonable cost for the blog post translations- supported translation.
- Ask JC if he has a Chinese contact for translation.
- Ask @Ryan Caruso if the internationalization of the blog is ready.
- Maybe Medium is an interesting solution for the mean time.
- Social media:
- Try to generate positive comments to our social media.
- Ongoing campaigns on Sparkwave - newer platform with improvements coming. They will attract more followers and determine who would be the best brand ambassadors, for this future program.
- Big audience on Galxe - many people engaged.
- All social media can be pulled to our
- @Ashley - MrsNU will post Twitter statistics in Notion by next week - There are a lot of visits to our accounts.
- Keep hired a social media manager for tBTC (focus on tBTCv2) starting today.
- Support stakers:
- Vict0r’s live for setting a node - record. If the video steps Vict0r follows for the setting of the tBTC node, these steps are available on a public platform, then the posting of the video would not cause a problem. Video link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1zS4vlBF7Lk4sBZtWgYa6f4Enffe0tzMI/view?usp=sharing
- Incentivize staking: Node providers - try to understand the level of use of node providers for tBTC. Statistics for tBTCv1 ~70% use of node providers. If this is extrapolated to Threshold, there is a need to provide the users a wide variety of staking providers. Try to understand the cost structure, their scaling (tiers according to stake numbers, requirements, etc.).
- The IG is working on this topic to put together a document to allow this. Proof of concept, they are trying to understand the need for it from the contributors, and what type of tools do they need or want.
- John has contacted several providers and some of them do not support individuals. Move this topic to tomorrow’s contributor call.
- Addressing bandwidth challenge:
-
Tracking extra hours:
- MrsNu: 63.5 hours
- ZeroInfo: 7 hours
- Nico186: 14 hours
(John: I only have 6.5 extra hours, and given my outstanding proposal I prefer not to include my hours here.)
So in today's meeting let's a) confirm these payments (I suggest the $85/hr discussed last week) and b) discuss our approach going forward (e.g., committee roles with budget to support the relevant OKR).

-
$85/hr vote on the compensation: no further comments on the rate.
-
Ongoing discussion on the compensations:
- 8h was projected in the beginning - it maybe need to readjust.
- Roadblocks towards adjusting this need for more hours by the committee members
- John’s proposal to address the communication between the different marketing teams. Reasons behind the inability to deploy successfully the budget:
- Find contributors to execute on tasks
- impossibility for the guild committee members to expand on hours per week prior to the proposal for extra hours compensations.
- Update on John’s proposal: private feedback to maybe reduce the number of hours. If approved, John plans to start strong and show results first. He will post in the forum an update showing the different feedbacks received.
- Nous ideas for educational content: gamify e-learning around T tokens. Arj and derek interested on the ideas, will discuss the proposal async.
