There is a lot of conflicting advise of what type of messages work for generating the most leads. The truth is, there is no perfect message.
You will always get replies back from people telling you to %$#@ off, and that’s ok. Don’t ever let that bother you, and never feed into the negativity by responding back.
The first goal of a DM should be to get a response. There are a couple of different ways to get a high response rate:
Start by providing value: offer to provide something helpful. The purpose of this one is to get an easy reply. Once someone has replied and then gets value from you, they go from “never heard of you” to “likely buyer”, especially if your free thing is really helpful or valuable. The better you make the free thing, the more likely they are to want to hire you for the paid thing. It’s important that you don’t just give them the free thing in the first message, but rather offer the free thing to get them to respond, and then deliver it. The free thing could be something like…
Every DM should consist of three things
I’ve tested hundreds of different messages over the years, and these are the specific messages that have yielded the best results. These are meant for inspiration, not for direct copy-and-paste. I would recommend reading through all of them and then workshopping your own DMs on a separate page.
