What is Agentic AI?

Agentic AI is a type of AI that can take up a task or goal from a user and then work towards completing it on its own with minimal human guidance.

It plans, takes action, adapts to changes, and seeks help only when necessary.

In simple terms, it's a software paradigm where you provide a goal, and the system autonomously plans and executes the steps needed to achieve that goal.

Generative AI (e.g., Chatbot):

Reactive: It only answers questions precisely at the moment they are asked.

No Initiative: It cannot take initiatives on its own.

Example (Goa Travel): You ask about flights, it tells you about flights. You then ask about hotels, and it provides hotel recommendations. You then ask about places to visit, and it provides answer based on that. This is a step-by-step, reactive interaction.

Agentic AI:

Autonomous: It operates independently once a goal is set.

Proactive: It takes initiatives without constant human prompting.

Example (Goa Travel): You simply state you want to travel to Goa between specific dates, and the Agentic AI system will proactively find the best travel options, recommend hotels, plan itineraries, and present them to you.
