Our mission.

Gardens is a web3 platform that grows value for communities by helping them invest shared resources towards a common goal.

We do this with a library of innovative funding strategies linked to a social contract called the Covenant, which codifies a community’s mission and values on-chain so they can be used to coordinate funding decisions in a bottom-up, permissionless manner.

What we’re looking for help with.

1. Fundraising. Sourcing grants, hackathons, and other funding avenues for gardens. For funding gardens is eligible for, help get info needed from our team to apply, track deadlines, submit applications, promote through Twitter / Discord / other channels.

2. Social Media. Managing the Gardens Twitter account as a way of amplifying our platform to the world. Be the voice of gardens and get people excited about what we’re doing by creating a fun, likable, and groundbreaking open-source software brand.

3. Partnerships and Growth Connect Gardens with other platforms, communities, and tooling that will help make Gardens a better product and more visible to the world.

4. Web Presence. Documentation, team information, landing page, other ways to help people learn about gardens and use it.

5. User Support Design and set up a user support system for Gardens v2 that will help us address questions and issues from users quickly and effectively.

Our contributor onboarding process ****

New contributors can request funding from 1Hive (in $HNY) to pay for their initial contributions, which the 1Hive community will review and support. This helps the 1Hive community and new contributors get to know each other and is a great way to learn how Gardens v1 works.

To start contributing:

1. Post a forum post proposing your contributions in the 1Hive forum #Proposals topic.

   Use this template for your post:

   • Proposal Title i.e. Proposal to help Gardens with Fundraising - [your name]
   • About Me Share a bit about yourself, your background, and relevant experience. Add links and examples if you can.
   • Proposal Description ****Describe the work you’ll contribute to Gardens. Use clear deliverables and focus on work that can be done with this initial funding only.
   • Expected time to deliver ****How long will it take to complete this work?
   • Amount of HNY requested **(**50 HNY or less recommended)

   ---

   • ETH address where funds will be received **(**Your ETH address)

2. Create a Funding Proposal in the 1Hive Garden

   After the community has had a few days to review and comment on the proposal, create your Funding Proposal in the 1Hive Garden (click “Create Proposal” on the sidebar with your wallet connected on Gnosis Chain). You’ll be prompted to:

   • Sign the 1Hive Covenant
   • Add $HNY to your Deposit Manager (you’ll need to deposit 6.06 $HNY, which you get back when your proposal is passed or cancelled. The deposit is only lost if your proposal disputed by the community and ruled to be abusive in Celeste). Use Honeyswap on Gnosis Chain to buy $HNY.
   • Select Proposal Type (pick “Funding”)
   • Add a Title, Requested Amount, Beneficiary Address, and a Link to the Proposal in the Forum.
   • Sign the transaction to create the proposal in your wallet.
