What is the NonDē 50 Films Project?

This is a coalition of 50 filmmakers who are committed to making non-dependent films this year, in order to create a new sustainable infrastructure for everyone and rise the tide of the movement itself.

CORE TENETS:

  1. We make good, ambitious films.
  2. We compile data sets.
  3. We test new distribution strategies.
  4. We launch multiple marketing campaigns.
  5. We plan for the long tail of every film.
  6. We use the ND50 Films Project to contextualize our work: in financing, distribution, marketing, press, PR.
  7. We forge collaborative relationships with strategic partners.
  8. We plan to make a return on our films.
  9. We build the infrastructure so we can iterate.
  10. We experiment and sometimes fail.
  11. We come to the table with a collaborative spirit and good will.
  12. We don’t believe in hierarchies, all are welcome.
  13. We don’t complain, we take action.
  14. We give more than we take.
  15. We play the infinite game.

All of this takes time. You may not see all of this happen right in front of your eyes because it takes time to onboard folks to the movement. But don’t be discouraged. Things are happening. And it’s going to take all of us.
