A Clean and Organized Parish
- Plan and share with residents the schedule for cleaning and maintenance of the town (village and beach);
- Align waste collection schedules with local business hours and ensure regular cleaning of containers;
- Expand the network of recycling points and create solutions to mitigate their visual impact;
- Support initiatives for population control of stray animals;
- Create distribution points for dog waste bags;
- Regularly share information about the water quality of Fonte dos Namorados;
- Improve traffic circulation within the parish and create more parking spaces;
- Improve accessibility in sidewalks and public spaces for people with reduced mobility (wheelchair users, parents with strollers…);
- Reinstate the Foz Bus service as a measure to reduce parking pressure during peak season;
- Urge authorities to strictly enforce regulations to prevent caravans and motorhomes from parking in inappropriate areas;
- Urge authorities to crack down on abusive parking, especially during the high season;
- Restructure the bulky waste and rubble disposal system, transforming it into a circular economy center (with recovery and reuse of bulky items);
- Follow up on the revision of the Foz do Arelho Detailed Plan (PDM);
- Manage the Parish Council’s resources according to the principles of an Eco-Parish.
A Transparent Parish Council
- Ensure transparency in the Parish Council’s accounts and services;
- Install an automatic gate with electronic registration in the motorhome park;
- Carry out financial audits at the beginning and end of each mandate;
- Provide and encourage professional training for Parish Council staff appropriate to their roles.
