〜より　than/more than

The particle 〜より (yori) in Japanese is commonly used to indicate comparison and is equivalent to "than" or "more than" in English. Here's how it can be used with verbs, adjectives, and nouns:

1. Comparison with Verbs:

[Verb I don’t prefer] + より + [Verb I prefer]

[Verb dict. form] + より + [Verb dict./ます form]

勉強するより、遊ぶのが好きです。

I prefer playing over studying.

会社に行くより、家で働きいている

I prefer working at home than going to the office.

In English “I prefer + verb + than + verb in gerund” but I’m not sure if in Japanese, also one of the verbs must be in gerund with ている form

速いより、安全な車を選びます。

I choose a safe car rather than a fast one.
