<aside> 💡 Blockchains are known to store executed transactions in perpetuity. This permanent data storage, however, was constructed through a volatile datastream, often referred to as the memory pool (mempool), or peer-to-peer (P2P) network layer data. Once recorded, the volatile P2P layer data provides valuable insights into the participating peers, how data propagates and which data did not make it into the blockchain.
