What it is

A single-line status indicator that tells potential clients whether you’re available to take on new work. Three states:

State Dot When to use
Open ● Green You have capacity and are actively seeking new projects
Limited ◑ Amber You’re close to full but have room for 1–2 more projects
Closed ○ Grey You’re fully booked and not taking on new work right now

Why it works

  1. Creates honest urgency — signals that your time is finite and genuinely in demand, without false scarcity
  2. Filters leads by timing — clients who see Limited or Closed self-qualify based on whether their timeline is flexible
  3. Signals professionalism — studios that manage capacity carefully also manage projects carefully
