What’s good, Gorbagios? Six days ago, we birthed the first-ever fork of Solana, and it’s been a gloriously chaotic ride! It all started with a token ($GOR) getting rugged by its own dev —yep, total dumpster fire. But from that mess, a young dev sparked a rebellion, and we’ve been building this “gorbage chain” in public, with the whole world watching. When Toly (@aeyakovenko) threw down the gauntlet 22 hours ago, we didn’t just answer—we built a movement. And now, we’re here to keep it transparent with you, our fam, about where Gorbagana Chain is headed.

The Gorbage Origin Story

Crypto’s shiny surface: high-tech, high-speed, high-finance—hides a trashy underbelly. Snipers, MEV raiders, VCs who tank ventures, and KOLs who hype and dump… it’s a jungle out there. We were just degens trying to have fun with our internet frens, only to get dragged into the muck by cabals and clout-chasers. But then, a wild idea hit: What if we embrace the trash? What if we rip up the fake promises, fork Solana, and make it ours—free from centralized gatekeepers, premines, and suits?

They dared us. They laughed. “Fork us,” they said, thinking we’d flop. But in 48 hours, we hit a $50M market cap, with devs (some not even holding $GOR!) jumping in to build, meme, and vibe. GORBAGANA was born! Turns out, they didn’t expect us to actually do it.

We’re the Gorbagios, united, saying “gorbage morning” every day and owning the trash so no one can use it against us. One for all, all for one - let’s keep this trash party going!

THE FUTURE OF GORBAGANA

We forked Solana in 22 hours, but we’re just getting started. Right now, Gorbagana’s running as a testnet on the Trash Virtual Machine (TVM, baby!), integrated with Backpack, rocking 14M transactions and 3000 active addresses. But it’s still test $GOR, not the real deal, and we don’t have a bridge for other assets yet. Time to level up to GORCHAIN, the mainnet that’s trash by design and proud of it.

Here’s the plan, straight from the trenches, built by a decentralized crew of Gorbagios who showed up because they believe in something:

• Initially single-validator setup–as Toly says, Solana only takes one honest node to survive an attack. With Gorbagana we have one garbage node (called Dumpster) to take out the trash! This validator, born of the trenches won’t get REV’d and MEV’d to oblivion. And it’s not that deep–we’re bringing fun-money and vibes.
