Aishwarya Raghu, known professionally as Aira, is an independent filmmaker, writer, and multidisciplinary artist based in Bangalore, India. Her work explores the nature of the human experience–love, loss, longing, memories, and dreams, and the way in which each of these shapes our subjective realities.
She has been awarded grants such as the B·LORE short film grant by Bangalore International Centre and has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize and shortlisted for the Forward Prize for poetry. Her visual art and writing have been published in a number of international magazines and journals. In 2025, she wrote, directed, and produced her debut feature film, which was recently shortlisted for PÖFF, an FIAPF-accredited A-list international film festival, and is currently in the early stages of its film festival process.
